GENERAL MISSIONARY BAPTIST STATE CONVENTIN OF MISSISSIPPI
Dr. Isiac Jackson, President

Vision Statement

Our vision is to assist in preparing the Music Ministry of the GMBSC of Mississippi so that God will be glorified, magnified, and edified through music.  We further envision bringing together music personnel from across the state of Mississippi in order that a sense of continuity in music will be realized.  Our vision is to answer the call of the world when they require of us a song, as the heart of the Psalmist speaks in 137:3-4; “For there they required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.  How shall we sing the Lord’s song in a strange land?”

Mission Statement

We will call upon professional, saved, experienced musicians who will help develop and teach the meaning of singing, the lost Art of Hymn singing, Choir songs, Children songs, Congregational songs, proper instrument usage during Worship, and the relationship between the Pastor and Minister of Music.  This will be accomplished in workshops at various local churches in the State, and special workshops and classes are offered to those in the music ministry during the State Convention/Congress meetings each year.
